Welcome to Harris Anthropological Research LLC (HAR)! These Terms of Service define the rules and expectations for using our website and services. By accessing and/or contracting with HAR, you agree to uphold these terms.

1. Mission, Vision, and Values

HAR’s mission is to delve into humanity’s insights and rise to today’s challenges through comprehensive and ethical research, design, and consultation. We synergistically provide:

  • User experience research and design

  • Business data analytics

  • Cultural heritage research, education, and consulting

Our vision is to become a leading provider of innovative and contextually rich solutions that bridge the gap between human insights and practical applications, fostering sustainable growth and creativity.

HAR operates with the following core values:

2. Commitment to Ethical UX/BIA Services

HAR’s work is rooted in trust and transparency—the foundation of ethical UX, BI analytics, and research. We recognize that users, clients, and research participants rely on our integrity to ensure fair, respectful, and responsible practices. Therefore, HAR is committed to:

  • Upholding Trust – We prioritize user confidence by ensuring ethical designs, clear analytics, and honest research methodologies.

  • Respecting Participant and Client Data – HAR safeguards sensitive information and ensures responsible use of research and analytics.

  • Rejecting Manipulative Practices – We do not implement anti-patterns or deceptive patterns, as recognized by the UX/UI community.

  • Empowering Users Through Clarity – UX designs, data insights, and research findings will always align with honest, transparent, and informed decision-making.

  • Social and Environmental Responsibility – HAR recognizes non-human environments and human non-users as stakeholders in our work. Our research and designs may include socially and environmentally responsible considerations, ensuring that our work aligns with ethical sustainability practices—free of charge.

  • Accessibility & Bias Avoidance – HAR ensures inclusive representation in research methodologies and consulting engagements while actively identifying and mitigating biases in analytics, research models, and UX designs.

Trust is the key element that allows HAR’s work to be meaningful and impactful. Without it, ethical and professional standards cannot thrive.

3. Cultural Heritage Ethics & Professional Standards

HAR adheres to the Register of Professional Archaeologists' (RPA) Code of Conduct and Standards of Research Performance. We commit to responsible stewardship, integrity in historical research, and community collaboration, ensuring ethical practices in cultural heritage studies and preservation.

4. Confidentiality & Proprietary Information

HAR maintains strict ethical and legal responsibilities related to confidentiality:

  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Research participant data is safeguarded, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and ethical research guidelines.

  • Trade Secrets & Proprietary Data: HAR protects confidential business information, ensuring that unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse does not occur.

  • Users’ Agreement to Confidentiality: By using HAR, users agree to respect and uphold confidentiality regarding protected research and proprietary data. Violations may result in service termination and legal action.

5. Liability Limitations for Third-Party Tools & External Factors

HAR integrates third-party software, platforms, and external resources for UX research, analytics, and consulting. HAR is not responsible for:

  • Failures or inaccuracies caused by third-party software or external data sources.

  • Unforeseeable or unusual circumstances interfering with the accuracy of research findings, UX evaluations, or analytics results.

  • Users’ independent application or interpretation of HAR’s insights, research, or consulting recommendations.

Clients and users should review third-party terms where applicable, ensuring informed usage of external tools integrated into HAR’s services.

6. Research Participant Consent & Data Security Practices

HAR follows responsible data security practices in handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) related to research participants.

  • Deletion Policy: Digital references to research participant PII are deleted within 90 days of project completion.

  • Secure Communication: HAR utilizes Windows-based systems, WIX website management, and ProtonMail for secure email correspondence to maintain appropriate security safeguards.

  • Confidential Data Handling: Research data is used only within agreed-upon ethical and legal parameters, ensuring compliance with privacy standards.

While HAR follows responsible data practices, clients are advised to take their own precautions regarding encryption and data security.

7. Pricing and Discounts

HAR offers discounts under specific conditions, including:

  • Veterans & Veteran-Owned Businesses – Eligibility requires proof of military service or business ownership verification through recognized entities.

  • Tribal Discounts – Discounts apply to Federally or State-recognized Tribes, Tribal governments, enterprises, or Indigenous-led initiatives that engage HAR’s services.

  • Environmental Non-Profit Organizations – Discounts are available for 501(c)(3) environmental organizations focused on conservation, climate advocacy, or ecological education.

  • Returning Clients – Repeat customers may be eligible for loyalty discounts on future projects.

  • Bulk or Long-Term Contracts – Clients engaging HAR for extended or multiple projects may receive adjusted pricing.

  • Seasonal & Promotional Discounts – Limited-time offers may be available.

8. Client Cooperation & Responsibilities

To ensure smooth project execution, clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and timely information relevant to services.

  • Engage in reasonable cooperation with HAR consultants and researchers.

  • Understand that client delays may impact project timelines, without liability on HAR’s end.

Failure to fulfill these responsibilities may affect service quality and completion timelines.

9. Indemnification Clause

Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless HAR from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:

  • Their application of research findings, UX recommendations, or analytics insights.

  • Any misuse or misinterpretation of HAR’s deliverables.

HAR provides professional expertise and guidance, but clients maintain responsibility for how insights are implemented in business, UX, or research initiatives.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

HAR operates within the legal jurisdiction of the United States of America, specifically the State of Texas. Disputes will be handled in accordance with Texas law.
